Based on a concept by Hunt Hoe and co-written with stage director Stephen Pietrantoni, VIVA CONFUSION is a multi-media Special on cultural confusion.
Starring the prominent Indian actor and psychiatrist Dr Mohan Agashe, the show fuses doctor/patient relations and multi-disciplinary Montreal artists in an unforgettable experience. Using documentary footage of interviewers with "real life" Asian-Canadians by descent or affiliation around the themes of identity, ancestry, assimilation and allegiance, Dr Agashe counsels using an unorthodox dose of dance, jazz and comedy with a distinct East-West masala.
Like the Oscar night, it was presented once only on June 6, 2009 at the closing ceremony of the Festival Acces-Asie. Ringing support from the audience sparks talks of return engagements in the future. Stay tuned!
